Pony Club members who have been given permission to help on the yard at weekends.
30 minute lessons for our younger riders who are just starting out.
Only book in if you have been allocated a private slot. Adults only 1 hour private lesson. Please speak to the office and we will allocate you a slot depending on availability. Recommended for those wanting to achieve goals more advanced or focus on more advanced training or build confidence and improve level of riding before joining a group.
A 30 minute private session. Please speak to the office to check availability be allocated a private slot. ONLY BOOK IN IF YOU HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED A PRIVATE SLOT.
One hour session for 2-4 people for beginner adults. You will stay in this lesson until you achieve novice level.
A 1 hour class session for intermediate riders

30 mins trials for BUCS Team
Taster sessions for students considering joining riding recreational sessions. Class levels are as follows:
2pm -beginners/novice (new to riding or have ridden just a few times before)
3pm-intermediates (have been riding a while, confident in walk, trot and canter and have a secure position).
4pm Advanced (confident riding in canter, over poles and small jumps, understands how to school a horse and ride basic lateral movements).

Training for BUCS team of Derby University
Trials to become part of the BUCS Team to represent your university
For Derby students only who wish to have a go at riding. This session is at beginner to novice level.
Jump Clinic with Level 3 showjumping coach and rider Richard Seals. Richard has many years of experience producing and competing horses at international level. He brings his experience with a sympathetic manner to coaching all levels of horse and rider, boosting confidence whilst creating an enjoyable atmophere.

Fun pole clinic to help you and your horse with straightness, suppleness and rhythm as well as having some fun whilst schooling. A glass of Prosecco at the end for all riders to enjoy! Obviously this one is aimed at the over 18 years. Horse hire available.
Dressage test riding sessions in the white boards with level 2 dressage coach and rider. You can work on a test ready for a competition or have a schooling session in the boards. Horse hire is available to regular riding school clients at an additional cost.

An hour and a half hack suited to riders who are competent at riding on roads and in outdoor open spaces at walk trot and canter. (Ground permitting)

Hire of a horse for the show jumping competition. You may hire the horse for a maximum of 2 classes. Please email us with 3 horse options in order of preference and we will do our best to match you up with your preference. Please take care of our horses in the warm up, let them have a walk after warming up, no more than 4 canters and 4 practice fences per warm up please. Our horses are very special and their welfare is paramount.
